Default Highest damage ranger build??

Ok... Before some of you start flaming me, I did a search. Yes, I know where the search button is. None of the stuff I found is helpful because everyone seems to disagree and keep arguing. Also if my post pisses you off because you answered this question hundred times already, simply ignore me.
Now let's get down to business.

In your opinion... What is the most damaging ranger build? I'm talking about AVERAGE SINGLE SHOT, SINGLE TARGET DAMAGE.

Is it Ranger/Ele? or Ranger/Monk?

Right now, I'm using a R/Ele with mark of rotgort, and conjure flame. It works pretty well. And no.. I never run out of energy. I'm wondering however, is there any way to do at least 60 or more damage on every shot??

Thanx.

Judges Insight + Read the Wind + Favorable Winds

You'll be doing tons of dmg, only for a short period of time however. Theres a thread out there with a nice long discussion about it. Search for it.

Melandru's Arrows is easily the strongest single-taget preparation available in terms of damage. Its pretty easy to assume there always will be an enchantment on.

I'm a big fan of Meleandru's Arrows as well, since it punches holes through just about everything.

try incendiary arrows/fragility for single shot damage.

that combo is usually killer in 4v4 arenas and vs less experienced 8-man teams, but one hex removal kills most of the extra damage you'll be doing.

The most guaranteed damage you can get from a ranger would be maxed marksmanship, a very high wilderness survival, melandru's arrows, favorable winds and tiger's fury or frenzy. If you're not using fragility, an attack speed boost is essential with rangers. Alternatively, kindle arrows, conjure lightning, favorable winds and quickshot does alot of damage too.

Why lightning and not fire??? at 12 pts, it's same 13pts of damage for every element

by all means, use whichever elemental form of damage you desire.

Kindle doesn't work with Conjure Lightning since Kindle converts your damage to fire damage.

Can someone confirm that you DONT need a fiery string if you are using kindle before conjure flame??? Or this has been patched??
Ppl said in the forums that when you use kindle the game thinks you're using a fire weapon, this way u can use zealous bowstring instead of fiery, and give yourself more mana. It shouldnt work, but it does. -- According to them.
I tried it.. and I cannot tell if it actually works... i seem to be doing less damage if i dont use fiery string.

Doesn't matter, Kindle still converts your damage to fire at the end, making the conjure useless.

I remember when I first used MA, I thought it was bit too conditional...but then I soonly discovered afterwards that it causes bleeding regardless of enchantment or not (the condtional part is for the extra damage on enchanted targets).....ever since then I've been a big fan of MA.

MA is ok for people with enchants, but really bleeding isnt a huge deal in a 8 on 8, and
really the kindle arrows does almost the same amount of damage. also by using MA it makes it quite a hassle to poison people since you'll have to switch between preps

i've basically put down the basis of my build on the other ranger topic so i say R/e>R/mo just becuase conjure costs less energy over time, leaving more energy to activate tigers fury and quickshot. and yea dual shot is strong but if you activate tigers fury and fire a quickshot every other shot thats basically a dual shot every second and a half, give or take

Edit: its 2 seconds
Edit2: bast has a good point, i think MA has better damage per shot, MA+JI+FW, maybe even stength of honor, and since its adding directly to bow damage you have better crits

It's kind of a trade-off really.

Kindle+Conjure: adds 2 low damage hits which get completely murdered by Shielding Hands. It also shouldn't stack with any other damage buffs like JI or Barbs or Orders.

Melandru's Arrows: I believe it adds its damage to the bow attack, which could make it get a bit murdered by Protective Spirit. Figure you have to be doing roughly 45+ damage for this to matter. MA also gives you a little bleeding too, which is a help in draining monk energy levels down some. MA will also stack with JI and physical damage buffs, so there is more damage potential with MA.
